A respected veteran News Anchor, John Dickerson, just pointed out the difference in how the two Political Parties define "unity." In the context of the historical definitions of "Conservative" and "Liberal" which have roots in centuries old European Social structures, that is, in the disparate viewpoints of Royalty and Peasantry, where Republicans want to rule while Democrats want to govern, the novel "1984" has coined a lot of phrases that I think are apt for the situation today...
