Belief is nor just a noun, but a verb. Also, the dynamic of persuasion is very important. Like meeting a new person requires some interactions for one to determine, for eample, "friend" or "foe." Likewise repentance requires some persuasion to comit to turning away from one's own precepts and turning to God Perhaps I am being too complex, but the Hoy Spirit (though I didn't realize it at the time) persuaded me that I had made a mess of my life and that mess was nobody's repsonsibility than consequences for my own choices. denominational Christianity read the Bible like an interesting novel, an action/drams serial. Intellectiual assent is not enough. Jesus said, "You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me to have life." Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words Strong's Number: g4100 Greek: pisteuo

Belief, Believe, Believers:

"to believe," also "to be persuaded of," and hence, "to place confidence in, to trust," signifies, in this sense of the word, reliance upon, not mere credence.
