Are You Blind or Something?

February 18, 2025

A person can get a lot out of the Bible — even if only learning about one people’s history. Yet it actually is the beginning and ending of the story of all of Humanity’s History.

The problem with getting to the next step of fully understanding God’s complete message to Mankind — with all its complexity and dynamics for living — of fully realizing all its practical applications — the problem lies with us.

You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. — Revelation 3:17, NIV.

Honestly, this is a hard accusation, but with it comes Jesus’ promise and power to overcome everything that gets in our way.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33, NIV.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. — John 3: 16–17 (NIV).

Look. You need to understand the duality of what Jesus both said and did. There is the physical reality and there is a higher, more transcendent meaning to everything He said and did:

So he replied to {John’s} messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor… — Luke 7:22,NIV.

Many writers on Medium, and I suppose, in every other method of communication, people come up with all sorts of arguments and historical documentations against every aspect of God, Jesus, and the Bible…

At the same time they don’t apply the same skepticism and scrutiny and critical techniques to their own so-called “proofs,” now, do they?

Here is some comments from an article about this:

https://biblehub.com/topical/f/false_teachers_and_their_destructive_heresies.htm :

“The concept of false teachers and their destructive heresies is a recurring theme throughout the Bible, serving as a warning to believers about the dangers of deviating from sound doctrine. These individuals are often characterized by their deceptive nature, leading others astray with teachings that contradict the core tenets of the Christian faith. The New Testament, in particular, provides numerous admonitions against such figures, emphasizing the importance of discernment and adherence to the truth of the Gospel.”

Read the Bible for yourself, getting what you can out of it. Seek understanding from God, and Seek to gain the presence of God into your life.

Ask Jesus to open your eyes!
