Brian, it is understandable that you would defend George Washington, but I cannot understand your Washington perspective in light of your previous article against the simple minded. You seem to be persuaded by a political bent. It is apparent you have swallowed the propaganda against those who are "Woke" - a moniker given with insinuating intentions to further a particular agenda, often a hateful one. Simple-minded folk include those caricatured by head-in-the-sand illustrations. History is written by the conquerors, not by the conquered. American History is no different. It has been presented as a whitewashed version for little children so they might aspire to virtue. But children are simple-minded. Adults should not be. We should be awake and aware of truth and reality, especially as Bible Believers. Unless you are a hero worshiper, it should not be upsetting to hear the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth... As the TV character Sgt. Joe Friday said, "Just the facts ma'am." There are lessons to be learned in studying the whole picture.
