I never considered those things possible, because the Republicans have tried to get their teeth into SSI for a very long time. The government only manages the funds, and taxes have nothing to do with Social Security. They are contributions deducted from Employee income and matched by their Employers who manage those funds and put them into the Social Security Fund.

Perhaps the Christian Nationalists neo-Nazis will succeed now that the SCOTUS majority is serving that personality cult also.

It's a scarry thought for us since SSI is 3 fourths of our income which never excedes the standard tax deduction... I am dependent on Medicare C and so could no longer afford any of my Rx ,our mortgage (lower than most rent) So I would die and leave my wife homeless.

God will Judge those people and bring their arrogance right ack upon them own heads. I suppose we still have to go through their limited regime for a little while, because God's patience is eternal, but it is definitely not not infinite.
