Ever read the story of Abigail and Nabal inthe Old Testament? Abigail was fortunate to have a very wealthy - although a fool - for a husband. The way I see it, she knew full well he was a fool and abusive, but she could easily stay away from him on the large estate. She ended up becoming a wife of King David.

For lesser situations, like once in a while I could be a eal asshole (not really abusive in any way but just tired ;oud and incoherrant and briefly disrespectful, generally speaking) No reason for a divorce and Patty understood what changes I was going through - losing my job, for example.

I'm not justifying myself or that kind of behavior. I'm just emphasizing the difference. You are correct in everything you said and Christians are often shallow to the point that I wonder if they are truly Christ followers, as in being born again.
