“And without faith it is impossible to please God. For anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” — Hebrews 11:6, Berean Standard Bible.
I am a Born Again Bible Believing Christian with a checkered past. “Believe” as it is used here and more importantly, how it is applied in my everyday life, goes well beyond the simple definition “to consider to be true or honest.” It is not a mere supposition. It is a verb that is neither a theory nor a guess. It has become a practical application working throughout all the dynamics of my life.
So, first, I accepted the Bible story about God as an honest proposition.
Afterward, I called on God to rescue me — which He did — and so I know that the Bible account must be true -even though I barely knew what was written in its pages.
Now believing, I continued seeking more about HIm.
As I continued down this path, I continued to be rewarded.
Faith was becoming well tested and was no longer theory. God now existed in my life and rewarded me as I continued following Him.
I was continually learning new concepts and applying them in my heart and mind and eventually learning how to make them a part of my living life. God continued making my life better and more worthwhile.
All my experiences changed the theory of Hebrew 11:6 into reality — as it has happened in many other Born AGain.Believers.
Want to know some of the realities God has brought into my life?
- I was led to Jesus, asked His forgiveness and His presence in my life — all of which He made true.
- My understanding of the Bible continued to open up with complete, cohesive, and comprehensive structure.
- My nicotine addiction of at least 10 years (since I was around 12) totally evaporated — and I wasn’t even trying, because I enjoyed the habit so much.
- I finally grew up.
- I learned how to work with my hands.
- God opened doors of opportunity job wise, starting with Temp Services, ending up with Full Time Union jobs and an added responsibility of being a Local Union President (while still holding one Full Time job).
- People from my Church prayed in the Hospital during one of my surgeries, and God showed the Doctors the hidden source of my profuse hemorrhaging, and they were just about to “call it.”
- Got married and we’ve been together for forty-four years , March of next year.
- We have five Children and seven Grandchildren.
- Now old and having multiple Health problems, God is keeping my spirits up — even during my initial stages of Dementia.
- My joy in the Lord has not diminished
Reading the Bible has not become “old” — that is, discovering all the Bible conveys has not become tedious, boring, or unproductive,
Well, I know that I have left out a bunch of experiences with God’s continual intervention and support and continuing personal presence in my life.

I write essays about God, Jesus, and the Bible in order that individuals might also begin to believe that “He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
