How true... in some ways... and I am convinced that today Jesus would have a lot to say to the Religious Leaders and politically powerful people of today. Still, your list of grievances is more about the modern social/political mess than a general rule.
I do think you have made a mistake about why Jesus came down from Heaven. He didn't turn out to be the revolutionary military General which the nation of Israel expected ("Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's) At at His trial, Jesus emphasized that "His kingdom was not of this world." Israel had expected Messiah to overthrow the oppressive Roman overlords.
But I am wandering off what I think is the more important idea. The Bible is full of Scriptures which talk about "sin." The first time I ran across your writings I did not make my thoughts clear and I am concerned that I missed telling you about a very important thing. You listed how you were a nice person and obeyed the Ten Commandments, and I believe you (but you did miss the very first one). Last night I hoped you would continue our conversation to give me one more chance: In Luke 18 there is this parable:
"To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
I apologize for this turning out to be very long response. This has gotten a lot longer than I intended, but I think you are worth the time...
The New Testament is full of the reason why Jesus was on Earth, and here are two: Paul wrote, "I told you the most important part of the message exactly as it was told to me. This part is: Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say." 1 Corinthians 15:3 John wrote, "And Christ himself is the means by which our sins are forgiven, and not our sins only, but also the sins of everyone." Still and all, those pivot on this one "Everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence." - Romans 3:23
Thank you for your patience reading this whole writing.
