I agree that some "Believers" pick and choose. Some don't realize that while we are alive, Jesus said we would have difficulties - they are sort of denying reality. I don't understand your judging me as a "Teflon Believer" when I often write that the Bible is a "meat and potatoes" record not apart from life's realities and not presenting a whitewashed history. Something like the she bear incident tells us something for our benefit - like don't mess with God's Prophet (not a priest). It is His world we're living in which He gave to us and showed Humanity how to live in it, with each other, and in a civilized manner.

By the by, a priest is an adminisitrator, presiding over an assembly; a prophet is an ambassador, God's word to our ears.
