I agree with all that you wrote. If I might add... Whatever the country was where you received your insight is today in danger of drowning in the psunami of xenophobia sweeping across Europe. In my meager knowledge of history, I think that this is a perennial and perpetual phenomenon. Not knowing the accuracy of the movie "Gangs of New York," I'm guessing it happened at least in a very similar way. Perhaps what makes this rendition so dangerous is how expert the leaders have become in gaslighting and in other vile, deceitful, and nefarious ways ...
