I am a 75-year-old Born Again Bible Believing Spirit Baptized Christian (since around 1972).

That means nothing to anyone but myself, I suppose, but I'm just trying to be open.

Your essay was very pointed and very accurate, but I felt the need of sharing a few cautions.

Just because there are people who counterfeit $20 bills does not mean I won't use them.

The Apostles left the Upper Room, but there still was the Upper Room. Believers still received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Still and all, I think this excerpt confirms what yolu wrote: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,a but have not love, I gain nothing. - 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, ESV.

However, chapter 12 remains. Chapter 14 remains... We have to eat and enjoy and digest the whole meal.

Which leads me to this final caution: Just because some "leaders" decided to close the canon of Scripture does not mean we should cose our minds to all those canonized Scriptures... all together and all totalled.

Thanks for writing and publishing.
