I don't know if my understanding will help anybody else understand, but here I go anyhoo... I know God exists in the Genesis account as God and the Spirit of God. God spoke and the Spirit hovered over the waters. Nobody has ever seen God, and so a surmise that He is the "I AM" who spoke to Moses. God the Father. Jesus is spoken of as the Logos of God. Hence, the triune concept of God... Don't know if I am creating any clarity here, but I can definitely assert this point: Before Mary and Joseph and Bethlehem, Jesus existed as God the Logos. When He was born, Joseph knew that he had had nothing to do with His procreation. Jesus was God's offspring and therefore, Jesus received the title the Son of God instead of the family name, Jesus ben Joseph. People love to be confused, I think, and even better, maybe they love to try to confuse others.
