I Have Some Questions…

For clarification purposes, I pretended to ask some of Paul, the Apostle, and i wrote it all in an essay which I published some time ago.

Now, I have some questions for everyone else… and I am not pretending this time… This essay is full of questions…

  1. Do you believe God really exists?
  2. Do you believe Jesus was theSon of God and came to Earth as a real person and for real purposes?
  3. Do you believe Jesus asked God the Father to send the Holy Spirit in his place to continue those purposes of God?

Oh, there’s more, but let’s take a pause to ponder these first ones…

There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. — Proverbs 14:12, NLT.

We all make mistakes, right?

To my first question, maybe you would answer that you believe instead in some sort of mystical superior power or force or deity of some kind. So can you specify what that power or force or deity of some kind has done for you in your life, in regards to improving you personally or your life in general?

As for number two,, likewise, if you claim to believe in Jesus who is of Biblical fame, can you specify what Jesus has done for you in your life, in regards to improving you personally or your life in general?

There is a third, a less ethereal and an exclusively intellectual avenue people take which basically says, there is nothing outside of ourselves that exists aside from this life. A person lives, dies, and deteriorates in their burial or cremation… Poof! Gone. Done. There is nothing else. So then, can you specify what that has done for you in your life, in regards to improving you personally or your life in general? You must have developed some morality and ethical standards, right? Can you delineate them and specify what they are and where and how you came by them?

As for my third question, do you believe in historical accounts? The Bible is an historical account written over thousands of years by various eyewitnesses. Furthermore, do you believe the adage “If we don’t learn from history, we are bound to repeat it?” Would you recognize such an echo if it came into your life, perhaps like a tornado, tearing your life apart? You’ve seen disasters all around the world as reported in the News, right? How do you imagine your beliefs would get you through such a storm — or for that matter, any and all the daily little bumps in your path?

Oh, I have so many questions…

  • Can your beliefs stand up to the same questions that people — perhaps including yourself — throw at Born Again Christians?
  • For that matter, how do you define”belief” — in part or in whole?

Oh, I have so many more questions… and can you guess why?

Because in my own life I have had the same questions — probably many of the same questions as you!

The difference may be that I have found the answers through my experiences with God, learning from the Bible, and starting with receiving Jesus as my Savior and completion with the Holy Spirit coming on board the sailboat that is my life.

Do you believe me? I wouldn’t complain if you don’t! Rather, I would strongly suggest that you check things out for yourself, going right to the top to talk with the head honcho…

Anyways I’ve sequenced a few songs here that I have always enjoyed and found encouragement in:

Sail On Sailor

Katy Nichole & Big Daddy Weave — “God Is In This Story” (Official Music Video)

Chris Tomlin — I Will Rise (Live)

Anne Wilson — Sunday Sermon | Lyrics Video |]

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28–30, NIV.
