I think you are in error from the get-go, saying Jesus words, at least in part, do not apply today. By whose authority are you making this declaration? Yes, unless we turn from our fallen condition to accept Jesus as our Rescuer and our God, we remain lost with all the implications of that separation from God. Yet, God remains faithful to be "standing by" to forgive us and receive us into His family. Besides, isn't it the Holy Spirit who draws us, convicts us, leading us to call on the Name? Therefore, two things remain, calling the Holy Spirit evil, which, in turn, rejects all Hs leading, and guiding, and eye-opening power which leads us to and throughout the personal experiences of. meeting and walking with Jesus. Thus, it is unforfgivable, cutting us off. Maybe it is like refusing to eat the food set on the table before us by a gracious host, or "cutting off our nose to spite our face."
