I wanted to say I had a different take by quoting the saying, God hates the sin but loves the sinner." That isn't quite right either.
I know "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble," so that has to fit in here somewhere. I know also that "He is patient not willing that anyone should perish." Also, King Solomon declared "There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. ' (7 individually and & all at once, I think).
The only verse I could find that wasclose to suggesting tht God hates anyone was in Psalm 11:5Bereqn Standard Bible,"The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked; His soul hates the lover of violence."
So, with only a tiny pinch of salt still alighn wuth "God hates the sin, but loves the sinner/"
