I'll start with your ending of your response and try to work back through it... First, I was quoting Paul and trying to put it in context which is that the false prophets and false teachers were professing to be representing God and/or Jesus and the Bible... Second , the Denominations are a dry skeleton of what the first Christians were all about as described throughout the New Testament... Next, regarding John Lennox, he is well qualified, not as your characterisation implies and doesn't have an argumentative spirit about him but thoroughly discusses politely in a give and take with notable professing atheist scholars. I think through their discussions that I have a fairly decent understanding of atheism. Besides, you really have no idea of his qualifications, and should listen to his bio briefly included in the hosts' intros. I suppose you might expect me to make a pointless inquiry of the qualifications of your cited exemplars of atheism, but I will leave my response with my personal outlook: God exists and has intervened repeatedly in my life for my good and in many otherwise inexplicable ways. For those I am a theist and not for nothing but for much something. I believe in free will and freedom of choice and ensuing consequence precipitating those choices and decisions which occur with or without God. Well thanks for responding to my responding, but it's near suppertime and there's an interesting football game on TV to boot... Hasta la vista... Oh, p.s. - Hitler's Germany was something like 99% Lutheran, 1% Judaic, but I hat I doubt that Hitler had any theist or atheist persuasions; I have no clue about Pol Pot's belief system, nor the % breakdown of Cambodia's populations' religions. And finally, finally, and by the by, John Lennox fields of study encompass a wide range of educational disciplines... There! I'm done.
