Jesus taught some pretty hard things like in Matthew 10:34 "Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword."
He also taught generous things like with the Samaritan woman, "Jesus said to her, 'Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.'”
Still and all, the only "theology" that has any essential purpose is found in Jesus' discussion with Nicodemus, "Jesus replied, 'Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.'”
You see, I think your cause is noble, but I have concluded that many who take the name of Christ have done so in vain, because they have not really found true repentance, nor have they truly been reborn by the Spirit of God, and so are nominal Christians at best and can neither fully understand God, Jesus, or the Bible. Therefore they will hunker down, holding onto their membership cards and their denominational types of "prenuptial" agreements... and thus, "the twain shall never meet."
