Most translations do a very fine job, but the most cited example "that was then/this is now" - is the KJV which was intended to speak the common vernacular of the Brits in1611.

Today, we have much trouble communicating, because many everyday words have different and even opposing definitions in people's minds.

Still and all, there are plenty of word helps - like Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and Thayer's, Greek and Hebrew/Aramaic Dictionaries, and MerriamWebster.com to settle any misperceptions. If people really want to understand - and I'm not so sure that that is a universally pursuit.

Not for nothing, I have found a difference between peace of mind and personal pacification.
