Slandered

Recently reading an article assessing why MAGA triumphed in the 2024 Election, I was persuaded. The author had it exactly correct, proving it with her statistical analysis. Basically, her analysis can be summed up with the coined adage from around a decade ago, “It’s the Economy, stupid.”

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils, which some, stretching after, have been seduced away from the faith and have pierced themselves with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith…” 1 Timothy 6:10–12a, Berean Literal Bible.

We often find security in love — love of every kind — don’t we? I love my boat. I love fishing. I love my kids. I love hiking. Am I right?

Now, please note that first of all, people get this Scripture a little bit off track where the verse says “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils…” — where it is often misquoted as “money is the root” only, but no, it is the love of money.

It is when we find our security in material wealth. I remember the Beatles hit song The Beatles — Can’t Buy Me Love

So, let’s put this together. Most people voted for their pocketbooks rather than for any kind of virtue in those who will be ruling over them.

This is most disappointing to me regarding Born Again Bible Believers and their children. Now, speaking not regarding the general public’s choices, but for the so-called Evangelical Christians: It is apparent to me, they have chosen a modern “Caesar” as their god and deserted God, Jesus, and the Bible. They have abandoned Jesus and His teachings, opting for political salvation instead.

They think that they are going to get something from these people. So, they put the fox in charge of the henhouse… Good luck with that…

Yet, I still consider such reprobates to be a very vocal minority of Evangelical Extremists — and even a more worthless sect of Christianity “Christian Nationalists. To make it worse, it’s not money they are after but power and, perhaps, also prestige -the unholy trinity of the Beast referred to in the Bible’s Book of Revelations. They want the power — not of the Holy Spirit — but for domination, a seat at the table in order to establish a religious regime to rule the entire country with all its divergent communities.

They are not exactly representing God,Jesus. and the Bible, now, are they?

If I remember my history and the U. S. Constitution correctly, that goal is in strict opposition to everything people have fought and died for from 1776 to this day… and those religious folk consider themselves to be Patriots… I think there is another name for traitors… hmmm… give me a moment. Sorry. I cannot think of one… Anyways…

My opinion only, but I think for them their fate is like Jesus’ rebuke of the church at Ephesus, “I have this against you: You have abandoned your first love. Therefore, keep in mind how far you have fallen. Repent and perform the deeds you did at first. But if you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.” — Revelations 2:4–5.

You see, very recently I again read this passage of Scripture, “For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?” — 1 Peter 4:17, Berean Standard Bible.

What a surprise that’s going to be for a lot of people who call themselves Christians.

In addition, this departure from God, Jesus, and the Bible has a very unfortunate side effect: “Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.” — 2 Peter 2:2, New Living Translation.

Reading many writers’ critiques of Christianity, that has become an obvious fact.

What an eternal disaster!

It’s hard enough to share the Gospel effectively with all the existing barriers to individuals’ believing.

Please, don’t let some unruly fans get in the way of your going to and enjoying the game… and it isn’t a game… far from it.
