Thanks for responding.

Maybe the origin of my response, being to a long time Pastor who complained about all the incidental jobs pastors had responsibility to perform might help to clarify what I said - my point being, the pastor was trying to be the whole body instead of just the head...I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. I'll try again:

In the Holy Spirit led assemblies of Believers in the first century gatherings, Paul, the Apostle/Missionary, likened them to the human body in which there are various functional parts - " Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues d ? Do all interpret? Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. - 1 Corinthians 12:27-31 (NIV).

So then, what churches these days work as many parts working as one body? Working as a coordinated body functioning together as equally important parts and with mutual dependence? To begin with, what churches are yielding to the guidance of the Holy Spirit? What churches today teach anything about

1 Corinthians 12 at all?

What I have seen is the Plant Manager in the pulpit with the Board in the background being "the real power behind the throne," and the employees assigned to just sitting in the pews politely, without any ability for questioning the rules or able to contribute any functional input..

There is no workings of the Holy Spirit. It is like a body without a soul, lungs without breath, a brain without mind.

Do you still think you disagree?
