The illustrations used of different mindsets and opinions seem to run the intellectual course of justification by sinners. "We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise." (2 Corinthians 10:12, NIV) One's shortcomings cannot be justified by someone else's shortcomings. In addition, When we are saved by faith, becoming twice born Believers, we have recognized our sinfulness and separation from God, because the Holy Spirit has convicted us of sin , the need for forgiveness and reconciliation with God. As we follow, reading the Bible, the Holy Spirit continues to show us the error of our ways piece by piece, teaching us line upon line as He brings us to completion. We cannot change ourselves, but we cannot use that as a "cop out" since God is willing to change us from the inside out. It is not an imposition, Individuals have to choose to accept the changes necessary to bring us to fulfillment and eternity.
