Your article was educational, and I agree with all you said.. David Attenborough came out of a depressing retirement to joyfully re-enter the fight to save our planet, and its too bad everyone in the world does not watch his last three documentaries... As noble the quest to save the planet might be, as your essay indicates to me, like the HMS Titanic, the ship is just to big and the rudder is just too small and the sailors did ot get the warnings in time to avoid the huge stationary disaster.
