There is a lot of "either/or" choices you offer, but either/or is an exclusive process rather than an inclusive one. There are manifold dynamics in human existence. Also, you seem to be excluding the essential aspect of relational interactions which is a mindful effort to include the presence of the person, Jesus, in whatever you might think or do, as a companion and friend. Without the consciousness of Jesus, my life always would become tedious, boring, or worse troublesome and even estranged. That's why people hang out with their friends, isn't it?
