Well, "in Christ " being the ignored phrase, makes a whole lot of difference in deriving doctrine. Besides, if your understanding of two Scriptures cannot be reconciled, your understanding of one or both could very possibly be wrong. In addition, the "all paths lead to God" theory cannot be reconciled with "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” - Acts 4:12. So, either a person believes in God, Jesus, and the Bible, or they don't.
