When I read about the perversions of the Bible by SGC and their hideous practices, it was so appalling that I simply could not wrap my mind around it. This isn't the first time that I have been confronted with twisting of Scripture by wrenching them out of their contexts, but this one is the worst. Unfortunately, some women leaders of the Women's Liberation Movement have quoted such perversions as if they were direct quotes from the Bible. Many others in general articles written by so many cynics also fall into the same trap.

The Bible is a complex written document, or rather, compilation of documents that must be taken and eaten and digested as a whole meal. Many are turned off because of these twisted doctrines so much so that they never consider picking up the Bible and reading it for themselves or sitting down with Believers to taste its offerings.

This perpetuation is what the Bible refers to as "abomination." While "sin" means doing harm and harmfulness, an abomination is a malignant harm, a rotting, cancerous harmfulness that causes a stench in God's nostrils-perhaps similar to the consequences of those military burn pits we hear so much about. That's what my studies have revealed to my understanding, anyways.

I hope it has not and will not knock you so off course that you lose your compass and cannot keep to the charted course, the strait and narrow understanding of the Scriptures. (note: "strait" is not a misspelling, but is used to picture a ship's navigation through a narrow channel)

Finally, one of the conveniently twisting of Bible passages comes from Paul's letter to theEphesians, chapter 5:21-33 where two particular verses are wrestled right out of the ring: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." 5:25 and "However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." 5:33. They are omitted and never part of the conversation. But to get the proper perspective, it is a necessity to consider in its proper light. Only verses 22-24 are emphatically blown up into bold print and it is wrongly said-by both concerned sociopolitical groups, "See! The Bible says women are commanded by God to obey, submit, and cower in fear to men!"

…A malignant, rotting stench…

Like you, I see that is so very far from the nature of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the teachings of the apostles: "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28.
