Your essay tells me what atheism is not and so I was left wondering. Did I have the wrong impression? So I quickly searched online for the definition. Atheism - "a philosophical or religious position characterized by disbelief in the existence of a god or any gods," - MerriamWebster.com . The only other exposure to a deeper discussion would be videos with Professor Emeritus John Lennox of Oxford University, England. For example, John Lennox: Science DOESN'T Explain What You Think It Does, December 15, 2023.

Because of those exposures, I think that I do have at least a little understanding and probably, more understanding of the facets of atheism than most atheists have of Christianity.

As for me, I belong to a comparatively small sect of anti-denominational Christianity which I have come to call "Born Again Bible Believing Christians." I doubt if you will find a church building with that sign above their doorsteps, nor an online site with the acronym "BABBC" - it's just not Madison Avenue catchy. Anyways, I know that I am not the only person in that category.

Most atheists commit the same error that you are accusing theists of commiting: basic generalization into a single and very broad category, triggering the same type of knee-jerk reaction people usually associate with racial prejudice.

Even within the scorning of the group, "Evangelicals," there is a mixed bag of true believers and false - those who are well-deserving of criticism - but it ought to be properly delineated into may categories and the arguments to be raised with the political Evangelicals or the more radical MAGA Evangelicals and Nationalist Christians.

Noting that there are also very badly behaved Atheists, here are the most germane Bible verses which I do believe sheds a whole lot of daylight onto the subject: "Now there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow in their depravity, and because of them the way of truth will be defamed." - 2 Peter 2:1 & 2, Berean Standard Bible.
