Your point is well-taken up to shoveling all this trouble on the Dems. The power-hungry former GOP (now MAGA sycophants) had foresight within that movement to prioritize Local and State elections and fill the Courts with "their people." All in all, I am not too sure that the Courts are going to be much of a bulwark - especially SCOTUS insane rather than studied positions.
